Help Us Make Carnival 2026 Bigger, Better & Open to All! 🎡
Last year’s Carnival was one to remember — the laughter, the music, the families enjoying the sunshine and the community spirit that filled the show field. But as the gates opened, something unexpected happened…
By 2pm, we’d reached our capacity of 5,000 visitors. Hundreds of families arrived, only to be turned away as they didn’t realise they needed a programme to enter, which were sold out! We saw the disappointment on children’s faces, the parents who had planned their day around the event, and we knew: we never want to see that happen again.
So this year, we listened. We took your feedback to heart and worked hard behind the scenes to make Carnival 2026 even better. We’ve now increased our event licence to allow 8,000 people onto the show field — that’s 3,000 more friends, neighbours, and families who can come together to celebrate what makes our community special.
However, this improvement comes at a cost.
In 2025, our event licence cost just £100, but with the increase in capacity for 2026, that fee will rise to £1,500 — a huge jump for a volunteer-run community event like ours.
We’re asking for your help to make sure no one has to miss out on the biggest community celebration of the year.
