The parade is the main attraction and tradition of Portishead Carnival.
The parade starts the from the Lake Grounds at midday and consists of small / large groups of walkers, fabulous creative floats and amazing performances, it finishes as the show field where the carnival celebrations continue.
It has always been a favourite past time for spectators seeing the creativity everyone comes up with to build their floats and making their outfits, just as much as it has been for those participating.
The parade will leave the Lake Grounds at noon (1200) and typically gets to the Show Field approx 1330hrs
There are 12 Trophies up for grabs on the parade!
Which one would you like to win next year?
It is tradition to have a Carnival Royal Family to lead the parade. We have proudly held two coronation events to crown them as our 2025 Carnival Royal Family
👑 King ~ Nigel Osmond
Not only was Nigel our local postie and during covid times made a lot of people smile with his dressing up whilst doing his rounds he was the talk of the town, but he also knows how to cheer people up.
He then went onto working at the Football Club and he has done so much work turning the club around, there is no doubt that Nigel has put the junior section in a far stronger position and his biggest legacy is how he has helped firmly establish the Junior section in the heart of both the club and the community. Nigel has made such a positive difference to the PTFC
👑 Queen ~ Tam Louise
Always putting so much effort into raising money for local community charities, not only is she lovely she is always supporting anyone she can, constantly reaching out to help people where ever she can and puts others before herself – Tam has a heart of gold and is always there when needed, Tam and her family are the heart of Portishead.
Tam has a pure passion for serving her community since a young age and continues to work hard all the time and never does it without a smile – nothing knocks this girl down!!
👑 Lady in Waiting ~ Rachel Osmond
Rachel does so much for the youngsters of Portishead, helping them to play football and has put so much effort into making the football club a success, she is hard working and never gives up giving everyone a chance to be a part of a team
