The βHighdown School Dads Book Clubβ provided some hilarious (and at times nervous) entertainment before they walked away with the trophy.
Although the IAKO provided plenty of laughs and fun,
team spaces and time on the day was very limited. To overcome this, and make it more inclusive for children, we are launching the new βFamily Editionβ that will take place at the Show Field on Saturday 6th June 2026.
Your schoolβs team of gladiators should be made up of 2 dads, 2 mums, 2 boys (Yr 5 or 6) and 2 girls (Yr 5 or 6) and of course as many cheerleaders as you can muster for the day.
This truly aims to be a fun packed family day and
although we have more time available, spaces are still limited, and we would ask you register early to ensure your team a place on the day.
All team members will receive a medal on the day, and the top two teams will go forward to compete in a playoff round at the Show Field Arena on Carnival Day to be crowned the Carnival IAKO champions 2026
Itβs A Knock Out Day will be held a week before Carnival Day
This would allow plenty of time for multiple teams and events with no critical cut off times.
Only the two top teams will go forward to Carnival day and compete in a one round competition to be crowned winners for 2026.
Teams would be based on a family style configuration.
Primarily consisting of:
4no Adults (aged 18yrs plus) & 4no Children (years 5 or 6 school age)
The ideal configuration of each team
(but not restricted to), would be:
2 Adult Males (18yrs+)
2 Adult Females (18 yrs+)
2 Boys (years 5/6)
2 Girls (years 5/6)
Games are non contact and we will be going through our plans extensively with our insurance & Health & Safety teams to make sure the event is safe, fun & comical for all involved.
